Fred Propp & Maureen Trost Propp: Class of 1970 & 1971

It was May of 1970... she was 14 and I was 15. We were at a high school musical, Hello Dolly cast dance party being held at the Scottsbluff Country Club.
I was supposed to be there with a date but she showed me up. My friend, Scott Stiegelmeyer, RIP and I were standing on the side of the dance floor watching everyone dance when this cute girl with the sweetest smile approached me.

Her warm expression was that of a person who knew I was not happy about the way the evening had turned out so far. She looked me straight in the eyes and said, “You were so good playing Barnaby Tucker and I think you’re cute too.” I smiled and replied, “Thanks, would you like to dance?” So the first song we ever danced to was, “In-A-Godda-Da-Vida” and we got to know each other pretty well just from the length of the song! :o)

After that we became known in school as Freddie & Mo and the rest is history. We continued to date one another and in October of 1973 we were married at St. Mary’s Church in Scottsbluff. We now have three beautiful children who are all married and four wonderful grandchildren. I can’t believe it’s going on 55 years that we have been together and time has passed by so quickly. Our love for one other has never wavered and our resolve to see things through with all the ups and downs has been strong.
We have had many wonderful years together and look forward to many more.

I love you Reen, more every day and always!
